Joey Barton applauds fans as he is substituted
Joey Barton made a controversial choice to walk away from Burnley in the summer after helping them win promotion to the Premier League.
The 33-year-old decided he did not fancy playing in England’s top flight again, and wanted to take a new challenge in Scotland with Rangers.

That move has now turned sour, with Barton falling out with management and now suspended by the club.
The BBC reported on Monday that Barton has been suspended for three weeks after falling out with manager Mark Warburton, having already been omitted from the squad this past weekend.
This is all comes just over a week after Barton’s Rangers were heavily beaten by rivals Celtic, losing 5-1, with Barton particularly disappointing after his bag talk heading into the match.

Meanwhile the side he left behind have moved on, with Burnley in 16th place in the Premier League, a position they would take quite happily if the season ended tomorrow.
Barton had a low key time off the field at Burnley, and was a star performer on the pitch, but fans are split as to whether they would welcome him back if the opportunity emerged.
