Burnley faced nearly 40 shots as they battled to a 0-0 draw against Manchester United.
Burnley defender Michael Keane has said, in an interview with the club’s official website, that his side’s 0-0 draw with Manchester United has proven a point to the rest of the Premier League and showed exactly what the Clarets are capable of.
It was a show of unique resistance from Sean Dyche’s men, who battled against 72% possession as well as a Premier League record of 38 shots to keep their clean sheet. In addition to that, goalkeeper Tom Heaton was forced into 11 saves for the second time this season.

And, despite the fact that United were down to ten men for the last 20 minutes, Burnley’s display at Old Trafford was yet another exhibition of their defensive resolve, having already beaten Liverpool 2-0 and only being denied a clean sheet against Arsenal by a dubious late winner.
It’s therefore no surprise that Keane has been so upbeat about Saturday’s performance, especially as they did not have the comfort of Turf Moor to fall back on.
He said: “A lot has been made about our away form so to come here to Old Trafford and get a point is a massive step for us and we can kick on from here.
“I think this shows people what we can do. We have belief in the changing room and I think we may have surprised a few people recently.”

The point elevated Burnley into 14th place in the table, meaning they are four points clear of the drop and lie above fellow promoted side Middlesbrough as well as more established sides like West Ham United and West Bromwich Albion.
The Clarets face Crystal Palace at Turf Moor next weekend and Alan Pardew’s side sit just one place above them on goal difference alone.
