The 26-year-old right-back moves to Turf Moor on a three-year deal.
Burnley have completed the signing of Matthew Lowton from Aston Villa on a three-year deal, the Championship club have confirmed.
The defender moves to Turf Moor for a fee believed to be around £1 million, having been earmarked as a replacement for fellow right-back Kieran Trippier, who left for Tottenham Hotspur last week.
Speaking to Burnley’s official website on his latest acquisition, manager Sean Dyche said: “Even back to his days at Sheffield United, I always thought Matt was a very good player and one who I think is motivated to go again.
“He has been at a big club in Aston Villa and wants to get back to the Premier League. The challenge for him now is to play regular first team football and help Burnley Football Club to get back there and we look forward to welcoming him into the group.”

Lowton, 26, joined Villa from Sheffield United in the summer of 2012 for £3 million and would go on to make 69 total appearances during his first two seasons at the club.
The Chesterfield-born defender fell out of favour with former manager Paul Lambert ahead of the 2014-15 campaign, however, as positional rival Alan Hutton earned a surprise recall from the wilderness.
He still managed to feature 13 times last term due defensive to injuries, while impressing during a four-game stretch at left-back over the course of March, but both Hutton and the versatile Leandro Bacuna have since remained ahead of him in the pecking order.
With new boss Tim Sherwood now revamping his squad in his first transfer window in charge, Lowton was one of several first-teamers to be made expendable and had been linked with several clubs in recent weeks.
The likes of Derby County, play-off finalists Middlesbrough and Premier League newcomers Norwich City had all been named as potential suitors [h/t Telegraph] but the ex-Blade will instead look to help the Clarets return to the top-flight at the first time of asking.
