Burnley boss hits out at Everton links.
Burnley boss Sean Dyche has distanced himself from reports linking him to the Everton job pretty effectively over the past fortnight.
And the Clarets manager was irritated to get asked about the Toffees once again in his Thursday afternoon press conference.
Dyche is focusing on Burnley’s upcoming fixture against Swansea City as they look to build on a strong start to the season which has them in seventh place, level on points with Arsenal.
Asked about Everton once again, Dyche said: “It’s amazing you’re still asking, as I’ve said plenty of times I am just getting on with my job here.”
“Are you still seriously going down this road? I’m at the stage I’ve always been at. I’ve had plenty of speculation, in a good way mostly, and that’s part and parcel of everything we’ve achieved here.
“You get interest, whether it’s me or my players. But I’m still here, simple as that.”
Everton appear to be pursuing Watford boss Marco Silva in any case, and there does not appear to be much mileage in reporters pushing Dyche further on it, other than to test his patience.
The Toffees sacked manager Ronald Koeman in late October and were expected to appoint a manager over the international break, but are yet to do so.
This weekend they face bottom side Crystal Palace, and a defeat may have supporters beginning to panic a little.
