Burnley manager Sean Dyche has told the club’s official website he is not concerned with the troubles of weekend opponents Leeds United.
Instead Dyche is determined Burnley focus only on themselves as they continue their bid to win automatic promotion back to the Premier League.
Burnley had a one and done season in the top flight last year, but are currently in a strong position to bounce straight back, sitting in first place with six games to go, although Middlesbrough are one point back with a game in hand.
With Brighton pushing hard in third place just two points back, the pressure is on Burnley ahead of their clash with Leeds this weekend, who after a disappointing season have nothing to play for.
Dyche said: “Leeds have had their fair share of ups and downs, both on and off the pitch, but we don’t concern ourselves with their world.
“Our main thought is not to worry about everyone else; that’s for everyone else to throw around, the pundits and the press men. Our only thought is to take care of our business. We’re not happy to cut someone else’s lawn, we’d rather cut our own!”
The two teams played out a tight 1-1 draw on the opening day of the season at Elland Road, but Burnley are heavily favoured for this one, with Leeds winning just three of theitr last 10 games.
Dyche added: “We want to be part of the magic number of teams who have come down from the Premier League and got straight back up there. That’s our main drive and our main thirst.”
