Burnley are reportedly interested in a potential January move for West Bromwich Albion star Jay Rodriguez.

A number of Burnley and West Brom fans have taken to Twitter to comment on the reports emerging from Sky Sports on Monday which have suggested that the Clarets are considering a move for Jay Rodriguez in January.

Rodriguez was on Sean Dyche’s radar during the summer and Sky Sports reports that Burnley made a number of bids for the 29-year-old, with the largest coming in at £16 million.

The report suggests that the Premier League side want to strengthen their wide options in the winter, while, in an ideal world, they would also like to sign a striker. With Rodriguez ticking both boxes, he appears to be someone that Burnley could make a move for.

The forward has made a bright start to the campaign with eight goals coming in 16 Championship appearances for Darren Moore’s side. Interestingly however, there seem to be plenty of Baggies fans who would not mind seeing Rodriguez leave The Hawthorns in a couple of months.

Rodriguez – who played over 100 times in the league for Burnley before leaving in 2012 – has endured a much more underwhelming run of form in recent weeks, and that seems to be what is prompting many West Brom fans to suggest that he should be sold – along with former Burnley target Craig Dawson.

However, the reaction amongst Burnley supporters is a lot more positive. There are concerns, but a number of the Turf Moor faithful believe that he would add something to Dyche’s side if he did return to the club.
