Burnley’s Sean Dyche is the early favourite for Mark Hughes’ job as Stoke City manager, with Celtic’s Brendan Rodgers also among the contenders with one bookmaker.

Sky Bet have already opened a market on Hughes’ successor, following reports on Tuesday which claimed Stoke are considering his position at the Bet 365 Stadium.

And the list is immediately topped by Dyche (4/1), who has led Burnley to seventh in the Premier League this season, against expectation.

Republic of Ireland’s Martin O’Neill (5/1) and Zenit St Petersburg’s Roberto Mancini (6/1) follow the 46-year-old, with Rodgers (8/1) the only other boss with odds shorter than 10/1.

The Northern Irishman has won four trophies in 18 months at Celtic Park and suffered defeat in just one of his 73 domestic games in charge of the Bhoys.

Here’s a more detailed list of the early contenders, courtesy of Sky Bet:

Sean Dyche (Burnley) – 4/1

Martin O’Neill (Republic of Ireland) – 5/1

Roberto Mancini (Zenit St Petersburg) – 6/1

Brendan Rodgers (Celtic) – 8/1
