The Wolves keeper, 22, has joined Falkirk on loan, and the Scottish Championship side have had some illustrious stoppers turn out for them in recent years.
Wolverhampton Wanderers have confirmed that goalkeeper Harry Burgoyne has joined Scottish Championship club Falkirk on a loan deal until the end of the season.
The 22-year-old was set to play for League One side Plymouth Argyle at the start of the campaign but an ankle injury saw the youngster return to Molineux without making an appearance.
Now back to full fitness, Wolves announced on their official website that Burgoyne has moved north of the border and could make his debut against Inverness Caledonian Thistle on Saturday.
Burgoyne is a Wolves academy graduate who has made seven senior appearances for the Molineux outfit and recently played in the Under-23s’ derby victory over bitter rivals West Bromwich Albion.
Falkirk also put out an announcement regarding the acquisition, adding that Burgoyne – who was training with his new teammates on Monday – made his Football League debut for Wolves in December 2016 against Fulham and was also in goal for their 2-1 win over Liverpool in the FA Cup two years ago.
Two England-based goalkeepers who enjoyed stints at the club and went on to achieve successful careers are Norwich City’s Tim Krul, who played for Falkirk during the 2007-08 season, and Leicester City’s Premier League title-winning Kasper Schmeichel, who had a spell in 2007, so hopefully Burgoyne can go on to hit the same heights as those two.
