Borussia Monchengladbach are reportedly open to selling Swiss international Nico Elvedi this summer, with Tottenham recently linked with a move for the 26-year-old.
According to Bild, the Bundesliga side are keen to raise funds in order to complete a mass squad overhaul, with Elvedi just one of many players who Gladbach could now sell, with the centre-back believed to be a target for Tottenham this summer.
Sportitalia reported via Sport Witness that Spurs are keeping tabs on Elvedi, alongside AS Roma, as Daniel Levy looks to bring in a quality centre-back who will soon hit their prime, with the Gladbach star an ideal player to fit this quota for Tottenham.
The Zurich-born defender has been a regular for the Bundesliga giants for the good part of eight years, with Elvedi long linked with a move to the Premier League having established himself as one of Gladbach’s most consistent performers, yet his time in Germany could now be coming to an end.

Indeed, with Tottenham interested in Elvedi and Gladbach set to transfer list the defender, the north London side could soon land themselves with a bargain signing if they’re quick off the mark to complete a deal for the 45-cap Swiss international.
Moreover, with Gladbach keen to raise funds, Tottenham’s opening offer might even be enough to bring the 26-year-old to the Premier League, where Elvedi could be suited as a new starting defender regardless of which manager Levy recruits this summer.
Tottenham should look to sign Elvedi as quickly as possible

Central defence is an area Tottenham clearly need more bodies and quality in this summer, and with Elvedi set to become available in the coming weeks, the north London side would be wise to act on Gladbach’s decision to offload the Swiss international.
As we know, Elvedi has been a regular in the Bundesliga for the past eight seasons, and with the Premier League a logical next step for the centre-back, Tottenham could land themselves a good deal with the 26-year-old if they move quickly enough to snap up the Gladbach defender.
