Kevin Hatchard has stated that Liverpool and Chelsea transfer target, Jude Bellingham, is ‘upbeat’ at Borussia Dortmund despite rumours linking him away from the club.
The Bundesliga expert added that it’s a ‘non-starter’ for the sought-after England midfielder to secure a possible move during the January transfer window.
The 19-year-old enjoyed a fruitful 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar despite England getting knocked out during the quarter-final stages to beaten finalists, France.

Prior to Bellingham heading to the Middle East for his first-ever World Cup, there was already hype on his shoulders, well add in World Cup tax, then his future transfer away from Dortmund is going to probably surpass the £100 million mark.
To no-one’s surprise, teams across Europe are keen to add him on board, no more so than Liverpool and Chelsea in the Premier League.
It will be interesting how things unfold in the summer because that’s when Bellingham might just become the main talking point of the window, until then, Euro expert, Kevin Hatchard, pointed out that he has a fight on his hands to help Dortmund to a Champions League finish, as he told Transfer Talk on Sky Sports News.
“I think it’s a non-starter for this window,” said Hatchard. “If you look at Dortmund’s transfer policy in general, it’s just not something they would do. They wouldn’t let him go mid-season. They still have a lot to do to make sure they qualify for the Champions League next season.
“It’s very important they keep him until the summer. I think he will be happy with that. I don’t think he will be pushing for a move. He has still been quite upbeat at being at Dortmund.
“He had an incredible World Cup, obviously his value would have gone up because of that.”

LIVERPOOL NEED BELLINGHAM MORE
With new owner, Todd Boehly, now running proceedings in the Chelsea boardroom, from a financial standpoint, it provides them with more power to beat Liverpool to Bellingham’s signature.
But those on Merseyside certainly need the all-action midfielder a lot more.
Yes, Graham Potter has had his own troubles since replacing Thomas Tuchel at Chelsea, but Liverpool’s midfield needs refreshing more and someone like Bellingham would be a near-perfect capture.
That was proven once again when they were deservedly beaten 3-1 at Brentford on Monday.
