Liverpool-linked striker Erling Haaland doesn’t have a €75 million (£67.85 million) release clause in place for this summer, Borussia Dortmund chief Hans-Joachim Watzke has told SportBild.
It had long been reported Haaland would be allowed to leave Dortmund next summer for that figure, but Watzke is adamant no such agreement exists in the wonderkid’s contract.
The announcement comes just days after RB Salzburg’s sporting director tipped the talented Norwegian to join Liverpool.
If the Reds are to land Haaland without the supposed clause, he may cost them a huge amount as he’s proven to be one of the most potent attackers in Europe during the past 12 months.
He has four goals in three Champions League appearances so far and can’t stop scoring in the Bundesliga either, netting five goals in five games.
The Norwegian is certainly set for big things but it may be a while before we see him leave Dortmund if those reports of a release clause were wide of the mark.

SportBild speculates a release clause for the same figure could be in place by summer 2022, but that hasn’t been confirmed by anyone at Dortmund.
There’s no real rush for Haaland to move.
He has been brilliant since arriving in Germany and Dortmund has proven a great club for young players to develop at, with the likes of Jadon Sancho and Giovanni Reyna showing real promise.
