Arsenal forward Eddie Nketiah has returned to first-team training, prompting celebrations from his teammates.
The 23-year-old Gunners ace has spent the last month on the sidelines due to an ankle injury.
Nketiah has enjoyed a fruitful season, filling in superbly for Gabriel Jesus when he was recovering from surgery.
Jesus and Leandro Trossard have both been utilised centrally since the Hale End graduate picked up his ankle issue.
Now, Nketiah is back in action, and took to Instagram to celebrate his return.
“Good to be back out there,” he wrote on the social media platform on Tuesday.
Plenty of Nketiah’s peers welcomed his return to action, including Saka, who simply wrote “trouble”.
The likes of Gabriel Martinelli, Gabriel Magalhaes and Ian Wright also responded in the comments.
Our view
Nketiah has played a significant role for Arsenal this season during a very delicate time for the squad.
With Jesus and Trossard both out of action, Nketiah had a lot of responsibility on his shoulders.
He did well, registering several key goals and assists to help keep Arsenal in title contention.
Luckily, Jesus and Trossard both returned to action during Nketiah’s layoff.
Now, with him back, Mikel Arteta has an embarrassment of riches in attack.
Arsenal are next up against West Ham United, a team against whom Nketiah scored last time.
He’ll surely fancy his chances of getting on and netting past the Hammers again.
William Saliba, sadly, is yet to return to training.
He sustained a lower back injury during last month’s Europa League loss to Sporting CP and has been sidelined since.
Meanwhile, Takehiro Tomiyasu is out for the season with a serious knee injury.
