Bukayo Saka and Arsenal are nearing an agreement on a long-term contract extension.
Since Andrea Berta’s arrival in April, he has been proactive in securing key players on new deals.
Gabriel Magalhaes was the first to sign on under the Italian sporting director, followed by William Saliba, Myles Lewis-Skelly and Ethan Nwaneri.
Saka now looks set to become the next one, as BBC Sport reports that he is close to finalising a new contract that would make him one of Arsenal’s highest-paid players.
It is expected that Saka will join the group of players earning more than £250,000 per week.
Jurrien Timber expected to be next in line for new deal

Berta’s plans extend beyond just Saka.
Having already secured key players on long-term contracts, Berta now appears ready to focus on Jurrien Timber, who is expected to be the next player offered a new deal.
Arsenal recognise that Timber has become a vital part of the team over the past year, and his current contract does not reflect his growing influence.
Timber currently earns £120,000 per week on a deal that runs until 2028, according to Capology, placing him among the lower earners in the squad despite playing a significant role under Arteta.
