Tottenham fans have praised Oliver Skipp and Cristian Romero for their performances against West Ham on Sunday.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s side suffered a 1-0 defeat to their London rivals – the fourth time they have lost to a neighbouring team this season.
There weren’t many positives from yesterday’s display, especially after an abject second-half showing when the fans expected their team to put their foot on the accelerator.
But despite the criticism of certain players, the Spurs faithful think that two individuals did stand out – Romero and Skipp.
Whilst there isn’t much for Spurs to cheer about, at least they have something to build the team around.
Romero arrived in the summer, and after a slow start that also resulted in him having to warm the bench, he is now showcasing why the club paid big bucks for his talents.
Then there is the fan favourite Skipp, who tasted first-team football in North London as a teenager when Mauricio Pochettino was in charge.
And now, the 21-year-old, after his loan spell at Norwich last season, has taken his game to another level and he is proving that he is ready to boss proceedings from the middle of the park in the Premier League.
One Tottenham academy product in Harry Kane might be getting a lot of stick thrown his way for his performances of late.
But the popularity of another in Skipp is only growing,
Here is a selection of Spurs fans reacting to Skipp and Romero’s performances yesterday against West Ham:
