Buffalo Bills offensive lineman Dion Dawkins was left emotional after Josh Allen took the blame for the team’s playoff loss to the Denver Broncos.
The Buffalo Bills’ season ended in heartbreak with a 33–30 overtime defeat to the Denver Broncos in the AFC Divisional Round.
Despite another strong season from Allen, the quarterback said after the game that he “let his team down,” taking responsibility for the loss that ended Buffalo’s Super Bowl hopes.

Dion Dawkins backs Josh Allen after playoff exit
Speaking to reporters after the game, Dion Dawkins became emotional while addressing Allen’s postgame comments.
The veteran left tackle held back tears as he praised Allen’s performance and leadership, even after a difficult night.
“Man, he didn’t let us down,” Dawkins said. “We love you… we’re thankful for him.”
His comments highlighted the deep respect Allen commands within the team, even after committing four turnovers in the loss that ended their season.
Dawkins, as one of the team’s senior leaders, defending Allen after the game while showing visible emotion, proves just how much Allen means to the franchise and the players.
His reaction captured both the frustration and belief inside a locker room determined to rally behind their leader.
Buffalo Bills’ season ends in familiar fashion
Josh Allen threw for 283 yards and three touchdowns while rushing for 66 yards, but turnovers proved costly.
The Bills outgained the Broncos by more than 100 yards and held possession for ten minutes longer, yet five turnovers — including four from Allen — ultimately decided the game.
Buffalo finished the season ranked fourth in total offense and sixth in total defense but failed to reach the AFC Championship Game.
The Bills are expected to target wide receiver depth and run defense upgrades this offseason to extend their championship window.
For Dawkins, the loss hit hard. His emotional defense of Allen summed up a locker room still unified behind its star quarterback — even as another season ended in disappointment.
