Steve McManaman was not impressed with Tottenham star’s late charge at an onrushing Petr Cech.
BT Sport pundit Steve McManaman accused Tottenham Hotspur’s Heung-Min Son of bottling a moment late in the game against Arsenal.
In the 87th minute of the 1-1 draw at The Emirates, the South Korean chased down a long ball.
Faced with the onrushing Petr Cech, Son appeared to pull out of making a challenge, with the goalkeeper eventually clearing the ball while outside his penalty area after slipping momentarily.

McManaman, who was on co-commentary for the fixture for BT, told the broadcast: “As soon as he slips there, slide in on him.
“Do something. He just runs off to the side of him.”
McManaman’s opinion was echoed by Tottenham supporters on social media, who wanted to see the forward seize the moment, including one supporter who said Son should not play for the club again.
Had Son been able to poke the ball around Cech and run onto it, he would have been left with an open goal to shoot into, or even have won a foul which could have resulted in a red card for the goalkeeper.
Such moments are the difference between winning and drawing close games like Sunday’s, and at a critical stage of the game, a goal for Son would have been a winner.
Son’s form has dropped off in recent games along with Tottenham’s. He has failed to score or provide an assist in any of their last six matches.
