Commentator Ian Darke has revealed, during BT Sport’s FA Cup coverage, that Tottenham Hotspur boss Jose Mourinho spent much of half-time on the pitch talking to Wycombe Wanderers striker Adebayo Akinfenwa.
Tottenham went into the break with the scores locked at 1-1, but Mourinho didn’t have too much to say to his players.
Indeed, the Portuguese boss resurfaced early from the interval and decided to relax on the pitch.
And the Tottenham boss apparently was in conversation with powerhouse striker Akinfenwa.
“You were telling us how Jose Mourinho came out early after he half-time team-talk, he spent most his time talking to Akinfenwa out on the pitch,” Darke laughed.
Steve Sidwell, who was on co-commentary duty for the night, then cracked a joke about Mourinho’s Instagram account.
“I’m not sure how much football there was, was it more about social media posts,” Sidwell questioned.

Despite having some spare time, Mourinho obviously said the right words to his Tottenham players as they produced an impressive second half display.
Spurs took a while to make a breakthrough, but in truth they completely dominated the game.
Tottenham created chance after chance, but it wasn’t until the final minutes that they began to take them.
Spurs eventually ran out 4-1 winners in the contest, and they will now meet Everton in the next round of the competition.
