Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane needs to rediscover golden touch and Borussia Dortmund could be like lambs to the slaughter.

Harry Kane’s season has been one of peak and troughs, having endured a goalless August before storming through September with incredible strike after incredible strike.

Since then, though, there has been another drop-off, with Kane scoring only twice for Tottenham Hotspur in that time – both goals coming against a hapless Liverpool defence.

The England international has suffered with a lack of fitness as well as a lack of form, sitting out of the international break and missing clashes with Germany and Brazil.

And Kane looked off-colour again at the Emirates Stadium in Saturday’s North London derby as Arsenal cruised to a 2-0 win.

Spurs bought Fernando Llorente in the summer as a back-up, but they badly need Kane back to his best, and so the prospect of a trip to Borussia Dortmund is an enticing one.

Dortmund might be a huge club with a talented squad who play in front of a ferocious home crowd, but they are having a miserable time right now.

Peter Bosz has been without Marco Reus, Christian Pulisic and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, while their lead at the top of the Bundesliga has vanished as they now lie fifth after one win in eight in all competitions.

Kane should enjoy himself against a leaky back line and, as Dortmund fight the pressure involved with their impending exit from the Champions League, this remains a big game in which the forward and his teammates can get a big boost from a victory.

The 24-year-old netted a brace in the reverse fixture, too, and Dortmund could be his perfect opponents right now.
