Everton left-back Bryan Oviedo has been speaking about his current run in the first-team at Goodison Park.
Leighton Baines is currently struggling to shake off his latest injury problem and that has given the Costa Rican international a chance to play regularly in the Everton starting XI.
Speaking to the Liverpool Echo he made it clear that he is currently happy with his role at Everton and that he is currently getting a chance in the first-team:

“It is not easy because you want to play every time.
“But you need to know that you are an important part of the team and you need to be working hard all the time because in the moment you don’t expect, you have a chance and you need to be ready for that.
“Sometimes, if you are not ready you can’t say anything afterwards.
“I am so happy at the moment because I have a chance to play and I am trying to do the best for myself and for the team and I hope to continue playing and I will be ready for the next game.”
Everton’s Leighton Baines looks dejected
As pleased as Oviedo is there is no doubt that Everton fans will be hoping that Leighton Baines is back for this weekend’s game at home to West Ham United.
Oviedo has played four games in a row and Everton have not won a single of those games. Defeats against Bournemouth and Burnley have sandwiched draws against Crystal Palace and Manchester City.
Oviedo’s performances have not been great in those fixtures and it is surely not a coincidence they have come in games in which Everton have not won.
Baines meanwhile has featured in five Premier League games this season, winning fiur and drawing one of those games.
Hopefully he is back to disappoint Oviedo soon.
