Bryan Oviedo only joined Sunderland from Everton last January.

Sunderland defender Bryan Oviedo has told the Sunderland Echo that he would like to be playing Premier League football next season.
Oviedo only joined Sunderland in January, but the Costa Rican’s comments immediately put his future in doubt.
Although Ovideo seems content to stay with Sunderland, his latest statement on his future suggests that a move could appeal.

“I have a contract with Sunderland, it is a great team with very good infrastructure, the only problem was the relegation,” Oviedo said.
“If I have to continue in the Championship, it is a great league but I will always look for the option to remain in the Premier League.”
Oviedo was brought to Sunderland from Everton by David Moyes, and the pair were known to have a strong relationship.

Moyes’ departure from the Stadium of Light could, therefore, have been a blow for Oviedo.
The 27-year-old was expected to have a key role to play for Sunderland in the Championship.
But his latest comments plunge his future on Wearside into doubt.
Whether Oviedo will have any interest from Premier League clubs this summer remains to be seen.
Oviedo has made 10 appearances for Sunderland to date.
