Everton defender Bryan Oviedo has told the club’s official website he must show more of himself after the international break.
The left-back has found himself in the first team in the last two games after an injury to first-choice full-back Leighton Baines.
It has not been a happy two games for him, though, as they have lost to Bournemouth and drew with Crystal Palace.
He has come in for particular criticism in both games, with many Evertonians feeling he is not up to the standard required in the Premier League.

It seems the Costa Rican is aware of that criticism, admitting to the club’s official website he has to show more of himself.
“I’ve enjoyed [the opportunity] very much. I will continue to work hard in every training session and hopefully, I can continue in the team,” he said.
“I need to show more of myself. We have very good players at Everton but I will work hard and hope to have more opportunities in the future.”

Oviedo will certainly have to improve in the coming weeks, with this chance in the first team arguably his opportunity to show he has a future at Goodison Park.
Leighton Baines is undeniably the first choice at left back while Luke Garbutt and Brendan Galloway are also options for manager Ronald Koeman.
For many Everton fans, the youngsters are already ahead of the Costa Rican and he will have to prove that isn’t the case by improving in the coming weeks.
