In our view, Tottenham Hotspur should not sell Bryan Gil in January, after his sparkling display in the side’s 4-0 win against Crystal Palace.

For those that are unaware, Gil has been heavily linked with an exit from Tottenham in the January transfer window.

Bryan Gil has been speculated with Tottenham exit in January

Just a week ago, ABC Sevilla had reported that Sevilla were in talks with Antonio Conte and Co. over a move for the £21.6 million (Sky Sports) man in January, who joined the club as recently as in 2021.

Spanish publication Deporte Valenciano had also claimed that Valencia were open to re-signing the Tottenham winger on loan, with a potential permanent offer worth £26.5 million.

Yes, Bryan Gil has had a stop-start career at the Tottenham Hotspur so far.

However, Gil displayed against Crystal Palace why Tottenham should view him as a project signing instead of one that makes an immediate impact.

After a string of middling performances throughout his time at the club, the Spaniard put in arguably his finest outing in a Spurs shirt.

Bryan Gil was arguably the best player on the pitch after Harry Kane against Palace, taking on defenders and leaving them for dead.

The nifty footwork Gil possesses was sublime enough for Antonio Conte to label him as ‘clever’ and liken him to one of the world’s best midfielders in Bernardo Silva.

Despite Tottenham flattering to deceive in the 1st half against Crystal Palace, the 21-year-old constantly looked bright, always looking to run past opponents and swing in dangerous crosses.

In the 2nd half, the wonderkid’s creativity was rewarded against Palace as he played an incisive assist for Kane, who struck the ball past Vicente Guaita from a difficult angle.

Aside from perhaps being physically underdeveloped, Bryan Gil is clearly a prodigious talent worth investing in for the long-term from a Tottenham Hotspur perspective.

Keeping that in mind, letting Gil go would be silly business from Tottenham and that too in January.
