Micah Richards has stated that Tanguy Ndombele has proven during his time at Tottenham that he can’t even be consistent for 20 games for the club, as he told BBC Radio 5 Live Sport.

The BBC pundit was very critical of Tottenham’s club-record signing and how he is ‘talented’ but is a player that just hasn’t performed.

During these past few days, a lot of limelight has been on the men in Tottenham’s dugout – both the sacked Nuno Espirito Santo and now the new arrival Antonio Conte.

But the players have got away with a lot because this is now the third manager that has been sacked under their watch.

At some point, you point towards the players and their abject performances that have resulted in Spurs declining so badly during these past few years.

Richards pointed out that Tottenham’s recruitment has ‘not been good enough’, as he put forward Ndombele’s name.

“Ndombele, yes, he’s a talented player,” said Richards. “But give me 20 games where he has been consistent?

“The brutal honesty about Spurs and the recruitment is that it’s not been good enough – you mentioned Ndombele, £54 million they spent on him.

“This isn’t a player for the future. If you spend £54 million on a player, then you want to see it straight away.”

Ndombele can’t seemingly last 60 minutes without being taken off because of fitness issues, good luck under Conte because he won’t even last 30 minutes as soon as he starts implementing his ways.

Either Ndombele buys into what Conte does, or he ends up being put up for sale during the winter transfer window.

In truth, that could be said for several Spurs players, including the likes of Harry Winks, Dele Alli, Matt Doherty and Steven Bergwijn.

And with a man of Conte’s standards, just like Jose Mourinho, he won’t take any side-stepping and will kick players out of the door, if need be.
