It’s been a frustrating start to life at Newcastle United for Bruno Guimaraes.

He joined Newcastle in a £30 million deal from Lyon in January to become one of the Magpies’ most expensive signings of all time.

However, Bruno can’t get into Eddie Howe’s starting lineup.

The St James’s Park outfit have won three of their last four Premier League outings – a 1-1 draw at West Ham United being the only blemish – and the Brazil international is yet to make his full debut for the North-East outfit.

Even Howe himself admitted that Bruno was ‘frustrated‘ over receiving mere two and three-minute cameos every matchday.

However, the 24-year-old might’ve just dropped a hint that he’s set to start against Brentford on Saturday.

Bruno took to Twitter to write that he’s looking forward to the next game, but also added that emoji of the eyes to subtly suggest he knows something that Newcastle supporters do not.

Is Bruno starting against Brentford?

Possibly.

Howe is a very good man-manager and he knows that with Bruno champing at the bit, leaving him out of the first XI again is only going to annoy the player.

Yes, Newcastle are winning without Bruno but, with a player like the South American, they can and probably will still record victories with the former Lyon midfielder playing regularly, too.

Problem is, Jonjo Shelvey has arguably been United’s best player under Howe and Joe Willock scored in the 1-1 draw away to West Ham United last time around.

If Bruno does make the starting lineup, one of those will have to drop out.

These are good headaches that managers famously complain about, however, and it’ll be interesting to see what happens against the Bees.
