Speculation is growing regarding Newcastle United signing Cristiano Ronaldo.
According to The Daily Mail, Newcastle have been offered the chance to snap up the former Manchester United attacker, whose contract at Old Trafford has been terminated.
Now a free agent, the Magpies are reported [90 Min] to have directly told the Portuguese icon’s camp that he will not be coming to St James’s Park.
But in a conflicting report, a journalist revealed today via HITC Sport that the North-East outfit have indeed made an ‘important offer’ to the 37-year-old.
Ronaldo would be the latest big-name player to join Newcastle but one of the club’s other stars probably wouldn’t be up for seeing the veteran come to Tyneside.

Bruno Guimaraes is arguably the first marquee signing of the PIF era at St James’s Park and earlier this month, the Brazilian midfielder insisted that Eddie Howe’s side didn’t need A-listers – like Ronaldo, for example.
He said to UOL: “Trippier and I were the first to believe in the project, so fans have a special affection. I think Newcastle need players with that mentality, it’s not about signing everyone just because they have money. It’s not bringing Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar, Mbappe. It’s not like this.”
Guimaraes probably has nothing against Ronaldo, but there’s no denying that the former Red Devil carries with him a lot of baggage.
And with Newcastle third in the Premier League standings and absolutely flying, do Howe and Dan Ashworth need to risk the inclusion of a bad apple right now?
Honestly, not really.
