Some Arsenal fans on Twitter think that Bruno Guimaraes could move to the Emirates Stadium after what Gunners striker Gabriel Martinelli posted on Instagram.

What’s the story?

Arsenal forward Martinelli and Lyon midfielder Guimaraes have won the gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics for Brazil.

Brazil beat Spain 2-1 after extra time in the final on Sunday.

Following the match, Martinelli posted a picture of him and his Brazil teammate Guimaraes on Instagram.

The Arsenal forward, 19, used the ‘eyes’ emoji in the photo, and that has led to some fans of the North London club getting very excited.

What are Arsenal fans saying?

As you can see from the tweets below, Arsenal fans think that Guimaraes could join the Gunners from Lyon in the summer transfer window.

Well, some of them anyway.

Globo Esporte reported this week that Arsenal are planning to make an offer of €30 million (£25.43m) for the 23-year-old.

However, the Brazilian midfielder’s club, Lyon, want as much as €40 million (£33.91m) for the midfielder.

We covered the report here on HITC Sport.

Guimaraes made 21 starts and 12 substitute appearances in Ligue 1 for Lyon last season.

The youngster scored three goals and gave one assist in those games.
