Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing the Portuguese ace.

According to Portuguese newspaper Correio de Manha, Liverpool are keen on signing Sporting Lisbon ace Bruno Fernandes, and if Jurgen Klopp manages to bring him to Anfield, he would totally transform the way in which the Merseyside outfit setup.

The 24-year-old was in absolutely electric form in Portugal this season, racking up 32 goals and 18 assists in 53 appearances in all competitions.

It is not just Fernandes’s talent that would make him such a good addition or Liverpool, however.

The Portugal international is most effective when deployed as a number 10, and that is something that the Reds currently lack.

Klopp’s options at Anfield limit him to play a 4-3-3 formation, and with the three midfielders deployed usually being defensive minded, creativity in the final third is sometimes a problem for them.

Liverpool missed out on winning the Premier League title by just one point last season, and draws away at West Ham and Everton as well as at home to Leicester will be blamed for their failure to lift the trophy.

It is in those kind of games that the Reds need something that little bit different, and the opportunity of playing 4-2-3-1 with Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Bruno Fernandes would give them an extra edge that they didn’t have last season.

Portuguese outlet A Bola claims that Sporting could sell the 24-year-old for around £62 million this summer, and in today’s day and age, that could end up being a real coup for Liverpool, if Klopp does in fact manage to bring him to Anfield.
