Bruno Fernandes has signed a new contract at Manchester United, and to celebrate, he’s been hosting a Q&A on Twitter.
The Portuguese star fielded all sorts of questions about his teammates and his national team, but one interesting question that was asked concerned the Manchester United academy.
Indeed, Fernandes was asked which academy player he’s most looking forward to playing with, and while he could’ve chosen from a number of talented youngsters, he named reported Leeds United target James Garner as the player he’s most looking forward to sharing the pitch with.
Unfortunately for Fernandes, if Leeds United get their way, he may never get the chance to play alongside Garner.
Indeed, according to reports, Leeds are keen on bringing the midfielder to Elland Road, and after yet another fine season out on loan at Nottingham Forest, it’s not surprising to hear that.
With Forest pushing for promotion in the Championship, the Reds may also have a say on Garner’s future. After all, they’re probably keen to keep him after his performances over the last two seasons.
Of course, Manchester United will be able to keep Garner if they truly want to. They have more financial might than Forest and Leeds combined, but there is a chance that the midfielder departs this summer.
Fernandes seems to rate him highly, and that bodes well for any team that signs Garner.
