John Terry joined Aston Villa in the summer of 2017.

According to The Guardian, Villa want Terry to be part of their team next season, and are confident that the former England international central defender will put pen to paper on a new deal if the Villans win promotion to the Premier League, with his current deal running out this summer.
The Villans will take on Fulham at the Wembley Stadium in London in the Championship playoffs on Saturday afternoon.

The Times quotes Bruce as giving a tongue-in-cheek response when asked whether Terry would stay if Villa won promotion: “Well, we’ll not pick him against Chelsea if that’s what he wants. I really genuinely hope he triggers it.
“All those phone calls to him, he hasn’t been disappointed with it. You can’t be disappointed when you walk through here.”

Keeping John Terry
Terry has been superb for Villa in the Championship this season and has been a key reason why the Villans have reached the playoff final.
The defender may be 37 years of age, but his experience and wealth of knowledge will be important for the Villans.
It is hard to see Terry play in the Championship for one more season, but if the Villans win promotion to the Premier League, then they should do all they can to convince the former Chelsea star to play for them.
