Aston Villa head to London to take on Brentford on Boxing Day.

Steve Bruce, Manager of Aston Villa looks on during the Sky Bet Championship match between Fulham and Aston Villa at Craven Cottage on April 17, 2017 in London, England.

Villa boss Steve Bruce spoke to reporters in the aftermath of his side’s disappointing 2-2 draw with Sheffield United yesterday, and provided an injury update on John Terry, ahead of his team’s trip to Brentford on Boxing Day, as quoted by the club’s official website.

The west Midlands outfit have been without the services of Terry since November 4th when he broke a bone in his foot during their home defeat to Sheffield Wednesday, and they have undoubtedly missed their inspirational skipper.

The 37-year-old has been superb since moving to Villa Park in the summer, and has been an excellent example for the club’s youngsters to follow.

Villa fans will be hoping that their captain is back involved with the first-team as soon as possible, with their club beginning to falter in the race for promotion.

Bruce, though, ruled out the possibility of Terry gracing the pitch at Griffin Park in two days time, as quoted by AVFC.co.uk:

“JT won’t be fit for Brentford. We’ve got to wait and give it time. He’s not ready. It’s a broken bone and we can’t rush him. We’d love to see him out there but unfortunately we’ve got to be patient.”

Villa are without a win in four, and will be desperate to leave west London with all three points on Boxing Day, as they look to keep their hopes of automatic promotion alive.
