Newcastle United are reportedly interested in signing Axel Tuanzebe this summer.

It was reported by the Daily Mail this week that Newcastle are interested in signing Manchester United defender Axel Tuanzebe this summer as Steve Bruce looks to strengthen his options at the back.
Tuanzebe went into this summer off the back of a superb loan spell with Aston Villa last season. The 21-year-old helped the Villans to promotion to the Premier League in his second spell with the club.
It was Bruce who brought Tuanzebe to Villa Park on both occasions. And his comments to Villa’s official website upon signing the youngster for the first time should certainly please Newcastle fans amid reports that the Magpies want the centre-back.
“He’ll bring pace, athleticism and a desire. He’s got a big appetite for the game,” he told the club’s official website. “I think it’s a great move for him at this moment in time. I believe he’s got a really big future at Manchester United, I really do.

“It’s not often a player of his ability becomes available.”
Tuanzebe is yet to prove himself at the highest level. But his improvement during his time at Villa suggests that he will be able to make the step up to the top flight if he gets the chance this year.

It will not be easy for Tuanzebe if he moves to Newcastle, however. Bruce already has a number of impressive centre-back options in his ranks, so it is going to be difficult for any of the club’s defender to hold onto a place in the team during the coming season.
But with the Mail reporting that the chances of a deal depend on whether Ole Gunnar Solskjaer lands Harry Maguire in the remaining days of the window, it would appear that Bruce faces a frustrating wait to see if he can be reunited with Tuanzebe.
