Steve Bruce suggests why Sheffield Wednesday fans booed Snodgrass

Aston Villa manager Steve Bruce has suggested to The Express & Star that opposition fans want West Ham United-owned Robert Snodgrass on their team.

Bruce made the comments following Villa’s 4-2 win against Sheffield Wednesday away from home at the Hillsborough Stadium in the Championship at the weekend.

The 30-year-old, who joined the Villans on loan from Premier League club West Ham in the summer of 2017, played well against the Owls, scoring one goal and making another.

Wednesday fans booed the former Leeds United and Norwich City star off the pitch, and Villa manager Bruce has suggested that it was because they got frustrated as they want him on their team.

Bruce told The Express & Star: “I think they (opposition fans) get frustrated because they want him on their team.

“Snoddy’s a dying breed, he’s got a trick in him and he manages to get crosses in. He’s not really got natural pace but he draws a foul. He’s been invaluable to us.”
