Aston Villa have struggled in recent weeks, after initially impressing after the arrival of Steve Bruce.
Aston Villa lost to Cardiff City yesterday, and Steve Bruce was furious with his side’s first half display, suggesting that he will not accept performances like that from his players, as quoted by the Birmingham Mail.
The Villans now sit in 12th position in the Championship table, and have slipped worryingly seven points behind the promotion play-off spots.
They now need to get back to winning ways as soon as possible, and put together a winning run that will force them back into contention for promotion, and inject some much needed confidence back into the side.

Bruce spoke to the media in the aftermath of his side’s loss yesterday, and highlighted their first half performance as one of the worst since he has been at the club, as quoted by the Birmingham Mail.
“Look, the second half is what I require. First half. I won’t accept it. The first half for me is as poor as we played at Norwich. So you recover from Norwich, go along quite nicely and show a bit of resilience against Leeds. Here today, first half in particular, we were awful. There’s no excuses, we were awful. I cannot flannel it any better than that, we were awful.”

Following their FA Cup tie with Tottenham Hotspur, Villa face a run of very winnable fixtures.
The average league position of their next six opponents is 15.66, so they have every chance of embarking on the kind of run that they need to start climbing the table, and force themselves inside the top six.
