Rangers youth coach Brown Ferguson is leaving Ibrox.
Rangers brought in Brown Ferguson in March, bolstering their coach staff in a move which pretty much flew under the radar.
The Gers landed Ferguson as another youth coach, joining the likes of Graeme Murty and Peter Lovenkrands in shaping the Rangers talents of the future.
Ferguson, 37, spent the majority of his playing career in the lower reaches of Scottish football, turning out for East Stirlingshire, Alloa Athletic, Hamilton Academical, Partick Thistle and Stenhousemuir.
Ferguson started his managing career with the latter, spending more than three-and-a-half years in charge of Stenny, winning 51 of his 165 games in charge.
He left that post in November 2018, and in March of this year, Rangers landed him. Mostly working with Under-15’s, Ferguson has been proving himself as a youth coach – but now, he’s chosen to go back into management.
Sixth-tier side Linlithgow Rose confirmed on their official Twitter account on Saturday that Ferguson is their new manager, having parted ways with Mark Bradley last month.
Currently playing in the East of Scotland Football League, Linlithgow beat Heston 6-0 on Saturday, and Ferguson took to Twitter to post a message about his move.
Ferguson believes Linlithgow have great ambition to become a force in the senior game, and whilst he thinks the job is demanding, he thinks it’s also an exciting challenge, hence his decision to trade in a huge club like Rangers for a move down into the sixth tier of Scottish football.
