Rangers have brought in young coach Brown Ferguson.
Rangers take on Aberdeen in the Scottish Cup this afternoon, and they’ve had have a new member of staff starting at the club this weekend.
The Gers already have a strong set of academy coaches in Graeme Murty, Craig Mulholland and Peter Lovenkrands, but have now added to their ranks.
Brown Ferguson, 37, enjoyed a decent playing career in Scottish football as a midfielder, playing for East Stirlingshire, Alloa Athletic, Hamilton Academical, Partick Thistle and Stenhousemuir.
Ferguson then turned his hand to coaching with Stenhousemuir, becoming boss in 2015 as he attempted to carve out a managerial career for himself too.
With a couple of play-off wins and a relegation on his CV, Ferguson had a mixed spell with Stenhousemuir and was ultimately sacked in November 2018.
However, he seemingly did enough to impress some at Rangers, as Ferguson took to Twitter on Friday to confirm that he’s joined the Gers as an academy coach.
Rangers will now hope to see Ferguson develop the likes of Dapo Mebude, Josh McPake, Nathan Young-Coombes and Chris McKee.
One former Rangers coach congratulated Ferguson on his move to Ibrox, with Mark Spalding passing on his well-wishes whilst calling the new Rangers man a ‘top coach’.
