Celtic must bounce back after being thrashed by Paris Saint-Germain in midweek.

Celtic captain Scott Brown has backed his side to respond to their heavy defeat against Paris Saint-Germain by prevailing past Motherwell in the Scottish League Cup final on Sunday.
It was a miserable week for Celtic as they were thrashed 7-1 away by PSG in the Champions League but Brendan Rodgers’ side must now switch their focus towards the encounter with Motherwell.
As reported by Sky Sports, Brown said: “You have to try to take the positives out of every result but once you look at the scoreline nobody really cares about any of the positives.
“But it is about how you bounce back and we have a huge game on Sunday.
“We need to make sure we go full steam ahead and hopefully be lifting that cup at the end of it.”

Celtic will certainly have to be strong mentally in order to not let the result against PSG adversely affect them, but they will be wary that they were held to a 2-2 draw by Inverness Caledonian Thistle last season after being beaten 7-0 by Barcelona in the Champions League.
Aside from the silverware that is at stake, there is an additional incentive for Celtic to succeed against Motherwell as they aim to extend their remarkable domestic unbeaten run, which currently stands at 64 games.

Brown will hope to put his experience to good use against Motherwell as Celtic aim to regain belief and attempt to win as many trophies as possible domestically.
The argument about whether Celtic will ever be able to be truly competitive in the Champions League when they are barely being tested domestically continues to rumble on, but this weekend Brown and his side will be purely focused on securing more silverware.
