The Celtic ace has been in fine form for Brendan Rodgers’ side this season.

Charlie Christie, Ryan Christie’s father, spoke exclusively to the Daily Record about his son’s recent rise to prominence, and suggested that the 23-year-old’s performance for Celtic against RB Leipzig earlier this month proved that he belongs on Europe’s biggest stage.
Christie joined the Hoops from Inverness Caledonian Thistle in the summer of 2015, but he initially struggled to hold down a regular first-team place at Parkhead.
The Scotland international has come on leaps and bounds this season, however, chalking up three goals and three assists in 15 appearances in all competitions for Celtic.
Christie’s father Charlie, who spent time with both Celtic and Inverness Caledonian Thistle, pinpointed his son’s performance against RB Leipzig in the Europa League as a crucial turning point in his career, as quoted by the Daily Record:

“Ryan won the Scottish Cup at 19 with Inverness then got the move to Celtic in 2015 which I thought would be a huge challenge for him. But that night against Leipzig saw Ryan finally make his mark. His performance brought a lump to my throat. That was the moment Ryan puffed out his chest out and believed not only he was good enough to be a Celtic player but that he belonged on the European stage.”
Next up for Celtic is a trip to Hamilton on Saturday, and Christie will be hoping for another chance to impress Brendan Rodgers and the travelling Hoops supporters.
