Brooks Koepka’s return from LIV Golf to the PGA Tour has certainly not pleased everyone, including Tom Watson.

Watson wouldn’t have allowed Koepka to return had he been in charge of the decision, with the latter having left the PGA Tour to join LIV Golf in 2022.

But he has since returned, along with his fellow American Patrick Reed, with both players currently involved at The Masters.

Reed avoided any reference to Watson when reacting to his comments, with Koepka now offering his take.

Brooks Koepka accepts that Tom Watson has an opinion on his PGA Tour return

When told after his second round that Watson doesn’t believe he should be allowed back on the PGA Tour, Koepka said: “Yeah, I mean, I would have to look at exactly what he said.

“Just going off your summary, everybody is entitled to their own opinion. That’s fine if he thinks that. He’s not the first person that’s thought that. So yeah, it is what it is. I’m just grateful to be out here.

“The people that make those decisions let me out here. If you’re going to get the opportunity to come back out you’re going to take it.”

Koepka has been busy on the PGA Tour this season, while Reed is currently on course to regain his card as he plays on the DP World Tour.

Brooks Koepka’s relationship with LIV Golf players hasn’t changed

Koepka has been joined at The Masters by 10 LIV Golf players, who endured a very difficult start to the tournament.

And there are seemingly no issues between the five-time major champion and his former LIV Golf counterparts, with Koepka revealing: “Everything is fine.

“Jon (Rahm) texted me as soon as I left, said hi to him. Saw Tyrrell (Hatton). See them quite a bit.

“Saw him in Orlando Saturday I believe. Drove up there. So everything is fine. I think no relationship has changed.”

His return to the PGA Tour was always going to cause controversy, with many undoubtedly sharing Watson’s opinion that a reunion should never have been allowed.

But there is no arguing that superstars such as Koepka drive interest, which is always going to be favored by the PGA Tour.

Both Koepka and Reed have done their talking with their golf at Augusta this week, with the former sitting on three-under after two rounds, within the top 10.

Meanwhile, the latter was tied for second on five-under at the time of Koepka’s return to the clubhouse on Friday, two shots behind leader Rory McIlroy.
