Bristol Rovers ace Matty Taylor landed a Championship move, but it was a shock to see him land at Bristol City.
Matty Taylor’s prolific form over the past few seasons made it inevitable he would move on from Bristol Rovers sooner or later.
Having reached deadline day, Rovers fans were optimistic yet cautious over whether they could keep him until the end of the season, with several Championship sides showing an interest.
The development which nobody saw coming was Taylor switching sides across the city, signing for local rivals Bristol City.

The BBC reported Taylor became the first player in 30 years to make the switch between the two Bristol clubs, following Trevor Morgan in 1987.
Taylor signed a new deal at Rovers last summer but this contained a release clause allowing him to leave for a knock down price, which City were able to take advantage of.

With 19 goals already this season, he is a player City need badly, as they have been in freefall over the last month, losing their previous eight league games.
Relegation is certainly a possibility, while the move could backfire if Bristol Rovers reach the League One play-offs and win promotion. They were in eighth place before his move, although it will be a lot harder for them to win promotion with Taylor gone and no time left to sign a replacement.
