Leeds United haven’t met conditions to talk to Darrell Clarke.
Bristol Rovers have released a statement on their official website confirming that they have received an approach from Leeds United for manager Darrell Clarke – but they have yet to receive permission to talk to the 38-year-old.
The Whites haven’t even confirmed the departure of current manager Steve Evans yet, but chairman Massimo Cellino is widely expected to be in the market for yet another manager this summer.
On Monday, MK Dons boss Karl Robinson rejected the chance to take the Elland Road hot seat, as reported by BBC Sport – and now Leeds are making moves for other managers.

The Pirates claim that Leeds have yet to meet conditions set out to open talks with the 38-year-old manager, and Rovers have now offered him a new and improved three-year contract to keep him at the club.
It seems like a compensation issue for Leeds right now, and Bristol Rovers are unsurprisingly digging their heels in after enjoying two stunning season under Clarke.
Brought to the club from Salisbury City in 2014, Clarke initially oversaw the club’s relegation from League Two to non-league, but with two successive promotions under the impressive Clarke, Bristol Rovers are back in League One.
As one of the top young managers in the Football League, it’s no surprise that Leeds are keen – but it seems like a deal is some way off being struck so far.
