Bristol City manager Lee Johnson has emerged as a contender for the Stoke City job with bookmakers Sky Bet.

Stoke are looking for a new boss after Mark Hughes’ sacking in the wake of Saturday’s FA Cup defeat to Coventry City.

Martin O’Neill, Slaven Bilic and Quique Sanchez Flores are among those linked with the Bet365 Stadium post this week.

And the trio currently lead the way as far as Sky Bet are concerned, with O’Neill at 13/8, ahead of Flores (2/1) and Bilic (7/4).

Johnson, though, is new on the scene, and has seen his odds on becoming the next Stoke manager shorten significantly, to 8/1, over the course of Wednesday evening.

The 36-year-old has led Bristol City to fourth in the Championship this season, as well as the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup, having knocked out Stoke in the third round.

Would the Bristol City boss be a good appointment for Stoke?
