Bristol City reportedly wanted to take Eddie Nketiah away from Leeds United.
Eddie Nketiah’s lack of starts at Leeds United has highlighted concerns about whether the Whites will get to keep him for the rest of the season.
The Sun reported last month that Arsenal will consider their options in January, and that Championship rivals Bristol City are ready to revive their interest in the Leeds loanee.
The Robins missed out to Leeds for Nketiah at the start of the season.
Now it seems as though Bristol City are lining up another young striker to sign on loan.
The Sun report they are keen on signing Liverpool youngster Rhian Brewster, who needs regular football to help his career.
Swansea and Premier League side Crystal Palace are among the teams also interested.
From Liverpool’s perspective it might be better to send Brewster to a Championship team, where he would stand a better chance of playing regularly.
If Bristol City are successful in their efforts to bring Brewster to Ashton Gate, then it will show they have no need for Nketiah.
Their interest alone is an acceptance that persuading Arsenal to get Nketiah to switch his clubs is going to be difficult. It can be taken as an encouraging sign for Leeds that they might be giving up.
Nketiah could be in line for his first start at Leeds this weekend, with Patrick Bamford struggling with an injury ahead of the home fixture against QPR.
