Bristol City striker clarifies his injury suffered against Leeds United.

Leeds United supporters were bemused at seeing Matty Taylor playing for Bristol City on Tuesday night appearing in pristine condition.
Taylor had just had a red card rescinded for his dismissal on Saturday between the two teams for an incident which saw him headbutted by Leeds defender Gaetano Berardi.
Manager Lee Johnson told the Bristol Post after the game that Taylor had suffered a broken nose, but the striker was able to play at Crystal Palace and did not need a protective face mask.

Taylor clarified the situation after the game, and told Bristol City’s official club website: “The swelling has gone down. He caught me right on the nose.
“I had an X-ray on it, luckily it come back clear. It’s not too bad to be honest.”
Taylor did not play with any ill effects, and scored Bristol City’s opener as they came from behind to beat Crystal Palace in the Carabao Cup, winning 4-1 against the Premier League strugglers.

Leeds’ Gaetano Berardi has two more matches of this three game ban to serve, after missing the cup game against Leicester in midweek which he may have been rested for anyway.
He will sit out this Friday’s match with Sheffield United and then next Tuesday night’s Championship game at home to Derby County.
