Bristol City owner discusses the future of manager Lee Johnson amid rumours of an approach from West Bromwich Albion.

Bristol City owner Steve Lansdown says that manager Lee Johnson is at the club for the “long term” after rumours linking him with West Bromwich Albion.
As Birmingham Live reports, Johnson had been tipped as one of the potential candidates to take over at the Baggies ahead of the 2018/19 season.

West Brom are expected to be relegated from the Premier League, although kept their slim hopes of survival alive with a 1-0 victory against Tottenham Hotspur at the weekend.
Current caretaker Darren Moore, who has guided the West Midlands team to three wins and two draws during his time in charge, is also being considered alongside Brentford boss Dean Smith.

Yet is seems that Johnson – who has caught a few eyes this term after taking the Robins to the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup, beating Manchester United on the way before losing to eventual winners Manchester City – will not be leaving Ashton Gate for the Hawthorns any time soon.
“Lee is here for the long term,” Lansdown told BBC Radio Bristol.
“I know nothing about it, other than what I’ve read on Twitter or whatever. It’s not been mentioned to me.
“I’m not aware that the club has had any sort of approach.
“We stuck with him in the bad times, and he’s given us some good times this season.”
