Bristol City have been linked with Leeds United loanee Eddie Nketiah.

Bristol City produced a dramatic late show on Wednesday night to beat Charlton Athletic 2-1 at Ashton Gate.

The Robins fell behind to Macauley Bonne’s second half opener, before Famara Diedhiou equalised 10 minutes later – only to then get sent off late on.

Lee Johnson saw his side rally with 10 men though, and in the 98th minute of the game, Josh Brownhill secured all three points for the hosts with a last-gasp strike.

The result takes City up to fourth in the Championship table, but they will have striking issues with Diedhiou suspended and Benik Afobe out injured.

City did bring in Rodri on a free transfer, but Johnson may want a striker in January – and links to Eddie Nketiah emerged again earlier this month, with The Sun claiming Johnson is interested again.

Johnson missed out on a deal on deadline day in August, with Leeds beating them to a deal, but despite his strong goal record – three goals in nine substitute appearances – he’s yet to start a league game for the club.

Ian Wright had previously claimed he told Nketiah to join Leeds, prompting City boss Johnson to invite him down to Ashton Gate to see what his side is really all about.

That happened on Wednesday night, as Wright posted a photo of himself at Ashton Gate for last night’s game – and that resulted in some fans believing Nketiah will end up joining in January.

Some were already welcoming Nketiah to the club, believing Wright as there to discuss a move with Johnson even though he has no official connection to Nketiah, with others just urging him to make sure Nketiah ends his loan with Leeds and heads to Bristol City instead.
