Aston Villa are said to be keen on Bristol City defender Adam Webster.

Bristol City fans really don’t want Adam Webster to join Aston Villa, as reports that a move is edging closer have emerged.

The Bristol Post report that Villa are confident of getting the centre-back, who could cost a sizeable fee this summer.

Webster was one of the stars of the Championship last term, and Lee Johnson is keen to keep hold of him.

However, Villa may have the financial power to force Bristol City into a sale.

And Robins fans are really hoping that Villa don’t manage to purchase the 24-year-old.

Villa are still hunting new defensive additions, as they are currently short of options in the position.

Villa’s first choice defensive pairing from last season, Axel Tuanzebe and Tyrone Mings, have both returned to their parent clubs, after their loan spells expired.

If Webster was to join Villa it seems likely that he would go straight into Dean Smith’s side’s starting line-up.
