Aston Villa are said to be keen on Bristol City defender Adam Webster, but he is proving to be expensive.

Bristol City fans have jokingly suggested that Aston Villa should have to pay even more for Adam Webster now, after he scored in pre-season last night.

Villa have been heavily linked with Webster so far this summer, but Bristol City are demanding a big fee.

The Bristol Post suggest that the Robins already want £30 million from Villa if they are to sell Webster, and that fee is proving problematic for Dean Smith’s side.

Webster did remind Bristol City fans of his quality last night too, as he scored in their pre-season match against AFC Wimbledon.

And supporters of the Championship side now think Villa should be paying even more money.

Whether Villa will be able to agree a fee for Webster remains to be seen, but he is one of the standout centre-backs in the Championship.

Villa have already brought in one central defender this summer, after completing the signing of Tyrone Mings.
