A number of Bristol City fans have reacted to the news that Antoine Semenyo has signed a new four-year contract at the Championship club.

The 19-year-old attacker is now contracted to the Ashton Gate outfit until June 2023 with the option of a further 12 months.

According to a report by Teamtalk from earlier this year, Semenyo was on the radar of Premier League duo Manchester United and Chelsea.

United and Chelsea were reportedly impressed by Semenyo’s progression, and the report claimed that the Blues were set to make an offer for him in the January transfer window.

However, he has now committed his future to the club he joined in 2017 and will be eager to kick on from his five Robins senior appearances so far (Transfermarkt).

Semenyo spent the first half of last season on loan at League Two side Newport County, scoring six goals in 32 games before being recalled in January.

Here is how some City fans reacted to the news on Twitter:

Fellow teenage forward Saikou Janneh has also signed a new four-year contract at City with the option of a further 12 months.

Janneh is yet to make a first-team appearance for the Robins but scored 18 goals in 34 games for Torquay last season as the Gulls won the National League South title.
