West Ham United are said to be interested in signing Swansea City defender Alfie Mawson.

West Ham are said to be prepared to pay £25 million for Mawson, and it could be an inspired piece of business for David Moyes’ side.
Mawson’s arrival at West Ham would not only improve Moyes’ defensive options, but it would significantly weaken a relegation rival.

Swansea are currently sat at the bottom of the Premier League table, and losing Mawson would be a major blow to the Welsh side.
West Ham could feel confident that by signing Mawson, they may well have condemned one of their main competitors for survival to a bottom three place.
Mawson would also be able to step straight into West Ham’s team, and improve their backline.

Mawson would reduce the average age of Moyes’ defence significantly, and he would also add steel and composure at the London Stadium.
Mawson has looked comfortable at Premier League level during his time at Swansea, and he could take a place in West Ham’s defence for a number of years.
