Tottenham fans have reacted on Twitter to Jurgen Klinsmann throwing his name in the hat for the Spurs job.
The 56-year-old told Sky Sports that ‘Daniel Levy has my number’ when asked about potentially become the next Tottenham boss.
Ryan Mason took charge of Spurs towards the back end of the campaign, with the club ending the season in seventh and in the Europa conference League.
Now, the hunt is on to name a new manager, with names being thrown far and wide.
Big pressure is on Levy to appoint a name that will entice their supposedly wantaway star, Harry Kane, to stay at Spurs.
Klinsmann is a Spurs legend but handing him the role, and there’s no indication that Levy wants him to, would be a disaster call.
The issue with Spurs is that they have fallen such a long way since Mauricio Pochettino’s departure that they need a big name, an ambitious name that will lift the crowd and supporters before they have even walked through the doors.
Klinsmann wouldn’t do such a thing and Spurs fans are thanking the German for throwing his name into the ring, but aren’t keen on the idea going any further than that.
